Some gorgeous red begonias that I grew from corms:

An active beehive on the front lawn:

I think it fell out of the big maple tree. Not sure how I'm going to get rid of it. I can't leave it there.
A pretty dragonfly in my garden:

We are two knitters. We love yarn, knitting with it, and fondling it. We went to Sock Summit!!!!

A beehive?!?! That's wild!! I don't think I've ever seen a "natural" one. I've seen the ones people build but never a real beehive!!! Wild!!
Those are great photos but a beehive on your lawn? Uh, yikes! It does make a fabulous photo.
It's a wasp nest, often called paper wasps due to the texture of the nest material. After it is dark, and all are inside for the night, you can flip a garbage bag over the nest and dispose of it. Wear long sleeve shirts and pants.
Love that garbage bag tip about the nest on the lawn. It seems like useful knowledge to have for future reference.
yes, those are wasps, but I think you can 'bee' careful when you get rid of them...
the dragonfly is one of the most beautiful I've seen.
