Big socks, little socks

My first finished objects for 2007 — long knee socks for Grace, and teeny ankle socks for Megan, Grace's daughter. These are Grace's birthday gifts for last year. She came over for our New Year's Eve party on January 31, which was also her birthday, so I made her choose a yarn that she'd like for socks.

Yarn: Knitpicks Dancing (sold out colour)
Needles: Knitpicks 2
Cast on 52 stitches, increased to about 58 for some minor calf shaping
The yarn speckled nicely until I did the calf shaping, at which point it started to pool.

This was fun to do. The bright and cheerful colours got me through a couple of dreary snowstorm commutes.
